I was there for my son’s soccer tournament. The room, facilities, and breakfast were okay, and having a combini right next door was perfect. Still, their old-fashioned attitude and weak customer service left me barely able to give it two stars, when the place itself deserved four. Having a tattoo isn’t a crime, especially for foreign guests. People with tattoos should be allowed to use the onsen when they’ve paid the full room price, or at least be given a specific time to go without mixing with other guests. In 2023, after the Olympics, that outdated mindset is bad for their business. Next time I’ll stay somewhere I feel more welcome as a person.

Try for a riverside room, they’re much nicer. If you end up by the road, the truck noise is awful. Guess it comes down to luck.
2/10
The hallway smelled of raw lamb. Breakfast was awful, and they wouldn’t serve me dinner even though I arrived 15 minutes before last orders.
8/10
A nice place to stay, especially if you get a room overlooking the river.

Nice hotel.
