Moss Jurigi Camp Resort

There’s a friendly community feel among campers, and the staff are helpful, attentive, and good at pointing out local places to explore. We enjoyed the hiking paths and open barbecue areas, with manageable trails for beginners and lovely forest and mountain views along the way. The main draw is the peaceful setting and the incredible views of Mount Fuji, especially when the sky is clear. The grounds are well looked after and make for a nice break from city life. Cabins and tents are clean, with enough room to relax, though the setup is rustic and the facilities are basic. They cover what you need, but don’t expect luxury. It could suit first-time campers or anyone after a simple stay, while more experienced campers may find the facilities a bit minimal.

Our family enjoyed the stay and the chance to reconnect with nature. The food was excellent: steak, chicken, and sausages, plus soup, rice, salad, and marinated vegetables. Staff were very nice, the rooms were excellent, and there was plenty for kids to do around the site, including slack lining, hammocks, board games to borrow, and a guitar. Fireworks and other fun things were available to buy. The bathroom is in the barbecue tent rather than the sleeping tent. The indoor onsen only fits one person at a time, which is awkward for families, and at most two adults might be able to use it. It’s basically a shower with a hot tub in it. There aren’t shops nearby, and the campsite is pretty small. Once you get there, I doubt you’ll leave, since there’s only a zoo and amusement park close by. This was our first glamping trip, though we’re used to outdoor camping. If you’re new to camping, the place could come as a shock, but it’s still a nice spot to stay and spend time.

I wish there had been another way to bathe besides the onsen, or that the onsen had been open for use in the morning.
