Sugadaira Sun Hotel

The bath was hot and refreshing, though the power mysteriously went out while I was in it. I stayed one night over a holiday in late February 2026, after finding this place available near an event at Urataro's Family West Course. The slopes are close by, and access was good. Dinner and breakfast were included, and the food was pretty good. The room TV didn't work because the signal was weak, and the futon was very heavy, more like a mattress.

The tatami was badly worn, and there were stink bugs in the water dispenser. At mealtime, more stink bugs fell from above into my friend's food, and she lost her appetite.

We stopped in for lunch while skiing, but waited an hour for our food. It was disappointing to see people who arrived after us get served first.

The meal had roast beef and fried items. Portions were a little small, but the self-service refills made up for it. We could change and leave our luggage before check-in. While I was resting in the lounge around 1:30 PM after dropping my bags, an announcement said early check-in was available. They said bathing after checkout was possible until 3 PM, but an early afternoon sign then said it was only available after 3 PM, so I couldn't bathe after checkout. A similar sign was up during early check-in, so it seems bathing after checkout is basically impossible.
