The public bath was a fun bonus, especially the men’s side with its outdoor hot tub. There’s also a laundry room with vending machines, and the staff were great and really helpful. We stumbled across AB hotels while driving from Irago toward Toyohashi and stopped to ask about a room. At 6,600 yen for the night, we booked right away, enjoyed it enough to stay a second night, and paid 6,100 yen then. It’s right by Tahara station, with lots of places to eat nearby. I’d pick Tahara over Irago, which felt sleepy and short on things to do. Great AB hotels chain.

The location is central, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. My room was small, but clean and perfectly satisfactory. Breakfast was the usual hotel buffet.
