We picked this place for a one-night stay in mid-October and were glad we did. The hut had lovely decor and even a nice smell to it. The manager was a friendly, helpful uncle who pointed us toward good local food, well-known onsens, and nearby spots for photos.

We had a great stay and would come back. There are some lovely hidden gems around the area, and the guests were quiet and considerate. The owner made us feel welcome and was very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the shared bathrooms never felt short on sinks or toilets. There were useful extras like utensils and a microwave, plus a common area where people could relax and eat. The bath was a real treat. Two or three adults can use it at once, and the door locks for privacy. Just be mindful that other guests may be waiting, and wash thoroughly at the nearby shower heads before getting in.

After a long day of travel, the bath was just what we needed, and we slept really well. The place felt so cozy and welcoming. In the morning we had fresh coffee and a chat with the very kind host, then went to see the beautiful Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu shrine. Thanks for having us, and hopefully we’ll see you again someday!

At night, the drive in is really dark, and you might spot deer coming out. The stars, though, are beautiful, and getting there was a fun part of the trip. I went in autumn, when sunlight came through the red maples into the wooden house. It felt peaceful and relaxing, with the scent of fragrant wood as soon as you walked in. The house sits in a quiet forest near the volcano, surrounded by lovely maple trees. The bathroom was very clean, and you can enjoy a hot spring bath there. The owner is a very nice man who carefully prepared travel information for visitors and left it on the table. If you enjoy quiet, forest surroundings, and red maples, this is a place I’d recommend.
