After seven months of solo travel around Asia, this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff were very friendly when I arrived, and their English was very good. The guest lounge has complimentary tap beer, highball, sake, and a soft serve machine. I was surprised by the public bath facilities: an indoor bath and rooftop open-air bath, plus a hot room, a sauna with a large TV, and a cold bath. I left feeling super refreshed. My room was comfortable, with a massage chair, and there was even a TV at the end of the bath.

The location is around 1 km from Takasaki station. The room was clean and nice, with a full set of appliances, including a massage chair, microwave, and refrigerator. There’s a TV in the bathroom too.

It was fine for a night, and the price was fair. The rooms are very old, with furnishings that may date from the 1980s or earlier. For the coin parking across the street, get payment vouchers from the front desk.

We stopped here for a night on the way to Tomioka Seishijo, the World Heritage place. A nice hotel in Takasaki.
