The inn is just a two-minute walk from the Hirayu bus terminal, where you can catch buses to Kamikochi. It’s a family-run place with excellent service from the owner, who speaks some English and made a real effort to address our concerns. We had a great stay, and the food was amazing. The breakfast and dinner spreads looked as good as the photos and were well worth it. Highly recommend!

The owner speaks English, which made things easier for foreign visitors. My stay was comfortable and relaxing, with an average room, service, onsen, and meals. The room felt a little dated but did what I needed. Nothing stood out, though nothing was bad either, and the price was pretty good for a ryokan.

The breakfast set was unforgettable, and the woman serving in the restaurant was wonderful. We stayed four to a room for one night while planning to explore Kamikochi. Hiratakan in Hirayu onsen was clean, quiet, and peaceful, and both the woman and man on staff were helpful and kind. We'd definitely return if we get back to Hirayu onsen.

The kaiseki dinner was really delicious, and the service was excellent. We were leaving early for Kamikochi the next day, so the ryokan prepared bento for us. It's in Hirayu Onsen, a small town that's comfortable to walk around, with food available. The ryokan has Japanese-style beds and an onsen.

The breakfast was so good, and the woman preparing it took great care of travellers. Our room was spacious and clean, with a fascinating view, and the area was quiet. I loved this onsen resort. The owner, who runs the place, was friendly, and free parking is available.
