The shared baths and shower were spotless, and we never had to wait or work around anyone. Octavio was as kind and helpful as other reviews say. He greeted us with a drink and useful information, and even offered to take us to the station when we had an early departure. The beds were comfortable, and toast, jam, and coffee were waiting for us in the morning. We loved the location near the temple walk and the whole town.

We loved it. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, and shared some great tips. The traditional Japanese house and room were beautiful. Takayama is small, so it was an easy short walk to the old town and the lovely temple walk. Amazing stay.

We had a great time at the Ninja house and would happily stay again. Octavio was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful the whole time. He shared tips on where to go, taught us a few Japanese phrases, and even called our next accommodation to confirm our stay. Our traditional Japanese-style room was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient, a flat 15-minute walk from the station and right by the main shops and hikes.

We slept so comfortably here, and Octavio was a warm, thoughtful host. Since we had to leave early, he arranged breakfast ahead of the usual time. We really appreciated that.

Octavio was helpful with practical tips, from places to eat and visit to which roads were closed. He also clearly takes great care of the house, which was clean, quiet, and well maintained. We had a lovely stay and send him our best wishes.
