The hotel kindly placed our family rooms on the same floor, as I’d requested before we arrived. That thoughtful help added to a really lovely stay, and I’d choose Mercure Hida Takayama again on a future trip. We slept very well in the comfortable bed, and the top-floor bath was a relaxing end to a day out sightseeing. Our room had all the essentials and enough floor space to open both a large and a medium suitcase. The hotel and rooms have a modern, elegant look, and Takayama Station is right next door. Ajikura Tengoku is also an easy walk away.

The pajamas were so comfortable I bought a set to bring home, and the private onsen was clean and wonderfully relaxing after exploring Takayama. The hotel has a nice mix of modern comfort and local character. Ahmad at the front desk made a great impression from the start. He was welcoming, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. Everything went smoothly from arrival to checkout, and we’d happily return. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was superb, and the room was a good size with a great layout. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom felt modern. We stopped in Takayama for one night and enjoyed it. The furnishings and blue wall panels gave the new-looking hotel a bit of a cruise ship feel.

The public bath is spacious and stylish, and we enjoyed our short stay here. It’s a modern-looking hotel in a handy spot, right beside the train and bus terminal. Ajikura is literally next door, and several of the main sights are walkable from here.

Breakfast had lots of variety and tasted great. The facilities all seemed very new, and the pajamas were really comfortable. The onsen was lovely, especially the two spacious outdoor pools. The location is very convenient, near the station and a great restaurant. Staff were helpful, and I’d especially like to mention the friendly, helpful Thai-speaking staff member at the front desk.
