Ryokan Gizan

We left after just one night feeling better than we had in weeks. The onsen was wonderfully relaxing and a great escape from the cold. Free snacks and drinks were part of the stay too, and I can't pick a favorite. The food was delicious and fun to cook, especially the tender Hida beef. The staff were always smiling, kind, and helpful. They even helped us find our lost key. For a family of four, it was really affordable for one night. Such a rejuvenating stay. I'd definitely recommend it if you're planning to stay in Okuhidaonsengo Hitoegane. 😁❤

We spent two nights here and felt very comfortable. The ryokan is small, in a quiet area, and never felt crowded. Our room was quite large, and the bed was comfortable. Staff at both check-in and the restaurant were very nice and helpful. The two highlights were the four private outdoor onsens and the delicious, plentiful meals, especially dinner. It wasn't cheap, but the quality of the place and service made it more than worth it. Highly recommended.

The staff were lovely throughout our visit. One of the servers was among the nicest people we've ever met, and the receptionist was fantastic and helped us a lot. They even let me call my previous hotel so I could retrieve the laptop I'd left there. The food on our first night was amazing, with very high-quality beef. I also loved the rice and curry at breakfast. Highly recommend 🩷

The private onsens felt luxurious, and I loved the concept. The food was amazing, and the service was friendly and lovely. If we come back to Japan, we'll definitely return here.
