The breakfast was very tasty, and the inn is only a short walk from Takayama station, which made exploring town easy. It’s a cozy ryokan with extremely friendly service. The bath is great, though on the small side, so during busy periods you might have to wait for other guests to finish. The older women running the inn don’t speak much English, so have a translation app handy. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a home away from home.

We felt extremely satisfied with what we got for the price. Our family of three booked one night with breakfast included, and both the hotel and room were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. I had miso over rice and could have kept eating as much as I wanted. The landlady was very friendly and felt like a mother to me. I highly recommend this inn.

I stayed in a clean, Kyoto-style room with six tatami mats and was able to relax in the bath. The washing area could fit about three people, and the tub about two. I left early in the morning, so I missed their famous breakfast, but they made me two rice balls instead. It was a nice inn.
