The host greeted us so warmly and kindly explained the room facilities. He was also helpful whenever our shuttle time slots changed, even if the changes were small. Since the ryokan is far from downtown Takayama, being able to reserve a shuttle from Takayama JR station was really handy. Our tatami room was clean and comfortable, and the kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were great, especially the vegetables. There’s a good hot spring, too. The ryokan is beautiful, and when the weather’s clear you can see the stars. We had a wonderful stay and loved this place!

The stay included an onsen, and we could try authentic Takayama food at our own expense. The staff gave impeccable service, and the ryokan offered a very authentic experience with countryside views.
