Taketa station hostel cue

Only a three-minute walk from Taketa train station, this guesthouse also has a café and bakery on site. It's one of the loveliest places we've stayed in Japan, and I'd recommend it to anyone in the area. Our bedrooms were spacious, beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, with beds that were especially good. There are two wonderful common rooms, plus a well-equipped kitchen. The showers and toilets are clean, nicely arranged, and beautifully designed. The staff and owners were kind, helpful, and generous with their time.

We loved being able to relax in the clean, tidy kitchen, Japanese-style room, and lounge, and the hostel also has a bakery from Thursday to Sunday with delicious natural yeast bread, including vegan options. Hostel Cue is a character-filled conversion of a traditional Japanese house, right by the station and river in the pretty castle town of Taketa. The team were so welcoming and always had ideas for things to see and do. Nearby restaurants and the trendy coffee shop Nageia were also highlights for us. This was the highlight of our Japan trip. We can't wait to come back!

Breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced, with lovingly prepared home-cooked food. The beds were very comfortable, and the hostel was clean, cozy, and felt like home. The owners and staff were all so caring and lovely. It was the best choice I made on my trip through Japan. Thank you, Hostel Cue!

We loved this cute, tidy hostel in a small village. It was quiet and very clean, and the hosts were really nice, giving us advice on where to eat and what to see and do around the region. We had breakfast there too, and it was very good. Thank you!
