The food was great, and the top floor has a large onsen with views of sakurajima. The men's and women's baths rotate. We were unsure about the place as we approached through Tarumizu, which feels quite industrial, and the hotel exterior didn’t make much of an impression. Inside, though, it’s recently renovated, and the rooms are large, modern, and comfortable. I was pleased to get two pillows for once in Japan. The in-room bath uses real spring water. You can feel its high pH because it’s slippery, and it has a faint metallic smell. It’s described as semi-open-air, but it’s enclosed; you can open a window. There’s also a traditional wash station.

I left breakfast disappointed. I got there at 7:20am, and it was shabby with most of the food already gone. At 9800 yen a night, I’d expected better, especially since there’s nowhere to eat nearby. I came away feeling a bit hoodwinked, though maybe I was just extra hungry. For me, 7500 yen would have been about right. It’s a fine enough place, just a little overpriced. The room itself was great, with a comfortable bed, nice decor, and a very clean feel. The onsen was lovely too. Its pH 9 water felt silky and comfortable, and the soaps and conditioners were much better quality than the usual bottom-shelf stuff at public baths.

The hot spring has a lovely view, and the staff are so friendly and nice. Service, food, room, and facilities were all great. Highly recommend!

Dinner and breakfast were a real highlight. The women running the meals were incredible, and it seems like a great place for families. The onsen was very nice too. There were a few things that could use attention: the internet had some issues, and the rooms and facilities could be better maintained. There was caulk everywhere.

I booked this place at the last minute, and it turned out to be a stay I’d happily repeat. The staff at reception and the people who prepared my meals were polite and friendly, and I felt relaxed throughout. From my room, I could see the ocean and harbor. I enjoyed soaking in the natural hot spring while watching ships sail toward the sunset and seabirds fly by. The room itself was a lovely modern Japanese-Western style, with tatami space and a semi-open-air bath. It smelled wonderful when I walked in, and the soft lighting helped me unwind. The observation bath on the 5th floor had smooth, creamy water that felt like it was good for beauty, with an ocean view. There was a sauna too, and the cold bath was truly icy, just right for cooling off and relaxing. There were plenty of amenities in both the room and public bath, including three kinds of shampoo and a full set of cleansing products. It seemed like I could have arrived empty-handed. I could choose a yukata, including work clothes, to wear around the hotel and in the restaurants, which was really comfortable. The lobby also had a games corner, manga corner, and karaoke. On my first visit, I was impressed by the rooms, food, hot spring quality, service, amenities, and value. I’d love to come back next month.
