Tendo Onsen TAKINOYU

We were well looked after during our honeymoon, and our room came with a private outdoor ofuro. It’s close to the station, with a complimentary shuttle, and we could easily walk to places around town, including some excellent restaurants. Yamadera is nearby too, so it made for an easy day trip. The amenities were excellent. I’d recommend getting a larger room if you’re traveling as a couple.

The service made our stay relaxing and easy, and the onsen, rooms, and facilities were all well maintained. I had an excellent experience at Takinoyu Hotel and would happily return. It’s a great choice for anyone looking for a high-quality onsen getaway.

The staff were so helpful and polite to me and my family, and there’s an onsen at the hotel. When it snowed, the view outside was really pretty. I stayed here in December 2023 and only got around to writing this review two years later. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a traditional Japanese look and a great view. Breakfast was really good, with plenty of variety, and the atmosphere was calm. This was the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Japan, and I’ve visited five times.

The staff were my favourite part of the stay. Everyone was welcoming, respectful, attentive, and proactive, and they went out of their way to make the experience memorable. Takinoyu Hotel is a beautiful, quiet place for either work or a getaway. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and well equipped, while the gardens are relaxing and lovely. The restaurants and lounge have a good range of options. It’s also well located near Maizuru Park, where it’s easy to catch gorgeous sunrises. Highly recommended.
