The hosts were incredibly patient, explaining how everything worked through Google Translate and even handling my dinner reservation. I felt at home right away, and my only regret is that I didn't stay longer. The traditional tatami and futon room was lovely, and breakfast was an amazing Japanese meal. It was cold outside, but the room had two heaters and a heated blanket. There's a small indoor bath, and they sell tickets at a slight discount for Dorogawa Onsen, just a short walk away. The hospitality was beyond anything I've experienced at a ryokan.

The hosts were warm and thoughtful, and breakfast was a real highlight, with delicious traditional Japanese flavors. If you're spending a night in Dorogawa, I'd highly recommend this hotel. They made the stay unforgettable.

From the moment we arrived at Ichigan Hotel, we felt personally welcomed. They had my name displayed beautifully at the entrance, a small touch I still remember. The ryokan has a homey feel, with tatami mats, simple design, and a warm atmosphere. Its onsen is traditional and old style, and breakfast was great. Staying at a traditional ryokan instead of a typical Western hotel is one of the most rewarding parts of traveling in rural Japan. Ichigan Hotel felt like more than somewhere to sleep, it gave us a chance to experience Japanese culture and hospitality. The attention to detail was remarkable. Thank you for keeping those traditional Japanese values alive!

The homemade breakfast was amazing, and the family staff were lovely. After a day of hiking, a soak in the hot bath felt wonderful. Incredible place, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

My first time at a Japanese inn was a lot of fun. The owners are a kind older couple, and they were welcoming to foreigners too. Breakfast was really good.
