The rooms, bathroom, and balcony are all huge and high-tech, and this is the nicest hotel I've visited in Japan. In the lobby there's a big selection of Japanese books for adults and kids that guests can take to their rooms. The price is reasonable, especially compared with what you'd find around Tokyo. The hotel is inside Sakura Town, a complex with offices, shops, restaurants, and a museum. The shops close at 6 PM, though, so when we checked in at 6:30 there were no nearby restaurants open. Fortunately, a large supermarket next door stays open until 12 am. For breakfast you can pick something up at Tully's Coffee or Family Mart. Lunch choices are limited, with few restaurants, and most are buffets or require online bookings. There's no nearby taxi stand, so you have to ask reception to call one, which costs extra. Higashi Tokorozawa station is a 15-minute walk, or a 500-900 yen taxi ride. A trip to the larger Tokorozawa station costs 2500 yen. It's a good place to get away from busy city life and relax in a small town. For shopping, it isn't the right spot.

Freaking rad place. The rooms are huge and comfy, with balconies, and there's a free drink bar open 24/7. The lobby's books may be less fun if you can't read Japanese. Getting here by car is great, with a free parking voucher, but the walk from the train could be a pain if you're hauling luggage.

The lobby is gorgeous, artsy, and creative, a book lover's dream. Guests can wander around and take photos, and there are complimentary drinks. It's in Tokorozawa Sakura Town, close to the Kadokawa Cultural Museum, so there's plenty to explore in the complex. It's not near a train, so expect to pay for a taxi. The room was incredibly spacious for the price, with a balcony too. The beds are very firm, and the movement-triggered light on the way to the bathroom could wake someone when another person gets up at night. I absolutely loved this hotel and highly recommend it.

I was so pleased to see Mt. Fuji from my room in the morning. Breakfast is brought to the room, which means you can eat whenever you like. The book collection is excellent, with lots of easy reads, and even little things like the bookends are nicely chosen.

If you love books, IN THE LIBRARY hotel and books TOKOROZAWA is worth seeing. There are books throughout, and you can read them in your room or in any open space. Spending time surrounded by books made for a great digital detox, and the free drinks in the lobby were a nice companion while reading. Keep in mind that the on-site convenience store closes at night, so buy late-night snacks ahead of time. For reading in peace and quiet, this is a lovely option.
