A good price, a comfortable night’s sleep, and the basics you need in a hotel, all in central Tokyo. It’s a cheap and cheerful choice for people visiting Japan on a budget. The main drawback for me was luggage: there wasn’t room for our large suitcases, so we had to rent separate storage away from the hotel. I’d like to see more space for big bags.

We had no problems staying here, and it was clean and quiet most of the time. You’ll notice people when they’re moving around, though. The luggage area downstairs is shared, but it seemed pretty safe. Kanda South exit!

For a very low price, you get a place to sleep near Tokyo Station, with Akihabara and other spots walkable from there. Towels, toothbrush and toothpaste, and nightgowns are provided. There are bathrooms on each floor, while the whole hotel shares one shower room and bath. As an American, that setup felt a little odd, but it wasn’t a big deal. There isn’t much room to move around, and you have to keep noise down while sleeping. I woke from a nightmare groaning loudly and hit my capsule, which probably wasn’t nice for the others. The lockers don’t hold much baggage, but you can leave bags out and be fine. It was a bit annoying having to hand in my key when I went out and check in again every day. Still, the staff and I had good interactions, and the stay was good overall.

It was a great stay, and the place was super clean for an overnight. Just keep in mind that you need to check out every day if you stay multiple nights, and leave your stuff in the common room. I wasn’t used to bathing nude with the other guests, so the shared bath surprised me.

The capsules are roomier than I expected, though a little old and sometimes missing a remote. I don’t watch TV myself, but if yours has no remote, you can borrow one from an empty capsule. There’s a small "onsen" in the shared bath; I’d go early because after 7PM it gets crowded and dirty. Follow Japanese bathing manners or some guests may grumble. The spot is great, very close to JR Kanda station, with plenty of restaurants and kombini nearby. Staff English is simple, but they’re very polite. If you book through booking or another site, watch out for higher weekend rates starting on Fridays. I expected a flat 2400¥ per night, but on Fridays and Saturdays it went up to 3300¥ (today 9/3/19). Staff said it was hotel policy and nothing could be done.
