The location is great, right by a metro station, and everyone was kind. My room was very clean. I used the free massage chair every night, and it was much better than the chairs in the US. There were also free ice cream and popsicles at night, free ramen later in the evening, and free onsens with separate areas for women and men. I’ll absolutely stay at a Dormy Inn again when I return to Japan.

The location worked well, with the station nearby and restaurants, convenience stores, and even a small supermarket close by. There’s a mini fridge in the room and guest microwaves too, handy for breakfast and for anyone watching their budget. We liked the option to choose cleaning just once a week. The hotel is trying to cut waste by not delivering fresh towels to rooms every morning, though it would be easier if replacement towels were on the 11th floor instead of at reception. A detachable clothesline in the bathroom would also let us dry towels and reuse them. The hotel was clean and well kept, even if the brown carpet looked a little dated, and it had modern touches like washlettes. We regularly choose Dormy Inn when travelling around Japan because it’s such good value. The baths were wonderful, and soaking morning and night helped us recover from each day. The water quality here felt amazing, and our skin and hair seemed like silk. The baths stay open from afternoon through morning. When jetlag kept me awake, I loved gazing at the open sky from a rooftop hot bath. One suggestion: please add mattress toppers. On our first night, the bare spring mattress was uncomfortable, and the springs dug into my herniated spine. The kind staff offered us a room with an Airweave mattress for +100¥/night, which was very comfortable. Now I want one at home. Most staff were as courteous and helpful as I’ve come to expect in Japan, but Ms.Kim came across as rather brusque and negative. We still had a wonderful stay and will come again.

The hotel is next to a subway station, but there’s no elevator, so going in and out is easy only if you don’t have luggage. Shops, several restaurants, two mid-size supermarkets within a 10-15 minute walk, and a coffee shop across the road that opens at 7 a.m. make this a convenient area. The hotel faces a side street, so our view was just the wall of the building opposite. That was fine for us because we could open the curtain without worrying about privacy. The front desk staff weren’t always polite, and some acted like robots. Honestly, the latest robot model seems more human. Most staff also struggled to communicate in English and needed a translation tool when I asked questions. Everything is self-service; from Mar 2026 onward, you need to collect the amenities at the front desk yourself. Check your booking carefully. My first Agoda booking didn’t mention NO CLEANING, but the front desk said no cleaning was included. We stayed seven nights and received just one cleaning. On another booking, Agoda listed a room as 27 sqm when it was actually 19 sqm. We confirmed the problem with the hotel at checkout from our first stay and contacted Agoda, but they only reconfirmed the room type with the hotel. They didn’t honor the listing, and the cancellation deadline had passed, so I paid more for a smaller room. Very disappointing. We had two bookings here in Feb & Mar 2026, and I hope I’m the only one who’s been unlucky.

The hospitality here was outstanding. The staff were the kindest and most professional I’ve come across in years of travel, and they put so much effort into making guests comfortable. The breakfast buffet was incredible and shouldn’t be missed. Mr. R. Teruya was especially generous, kind, and helpful, always ready to answer questions about food, currency, or sightseeing. After such a wonderful first week, I cancelled my return flight and booked another week to enjoy beautiful Tokyo longer. The staff made the extra booking easy and handled all my requests without fuss. This may be one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you, Dormy inn, and especially Mr. R. Teruya. I’ll never forget my time in Japan.

The sento/onsen on the top floor was a lovely place to unwind after a long day. Guests bathe without clothes, with separate baths for men and women. This is a nice mid-budget hotel in a very quiet area, a good fit if you want a break from crowds and activity. The rooms are tiny, as expected in Tokyo, but have what you need, and the service was great. Breakfast is very Japanese, with enough variety for a Western palate. The main drawback is getting to Tokyo Station: Kodemachoo Subway is close, but the route involves a transfer. There’s a bus stop about 250 meters away with direct service to the station.
