Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu - Haneda Airport Terminal 2

I mainly come back for how clean the rooms are and how easy the location makes an early international connection. The hotel is right inside Haneda Airport Terminal 2, so getting to the airport is hard to beat. For somewhere to sleep, the room is plenty; I’ll keep staying here despite a few things I hope they improve. The hotel restaurant feels quite overpriced. Luckily, Terminal 2 has lots of places to eat and convenience stores, so it’s easy to get food elsewhere. The bedside outlets still don’t have USB ports, which feels dated. The bathroom amenities and toothbrushes come in paper packaging, but some of the paper looked damp or crumpled, and I wondered if it had been splashed. I’ve also noticed more non-Japanese staff at the front desk lately. They can handle the basics, but conversations don’t feel very natural or personable. I had trouble arranging luggage shipping from the cloakroom too, because the staff struggled with the complicated forms. For a hotel positioning itself as high-end, I’d expect Japanese skills that go beyond JLPT N1 and allow for more natural human interaction. Those are my salty comments, but cleanliness and convenience matter most for an airport hotel, so I’ll be back and hope the smaller issues get sorted out.

Getting to T2 from inside the hotel was so easy, with domestic and international access, plus plenty of food choices in the terminal. I had a superior single room with a double bed, and there was enough space to repack two suitcases. It was very clean, had an iron, and was the quietest airport hotel I’ve stayed in. The green programme was good too. Auto check-in and check-out took the stress out of an early check-in, and the staff were very helpful. I’ll be back.

The elderly gentleman at the entrance deserves a special mention for directing and guiding guests. The staff on duty were all friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. You can tell Management has trained and groomed the customer service team well. We enjoyed our stay, thank you, and would recommend the hotel to friends travelling through Tokyo.

Terminal 2 has lots of places to eat and shop, and the hotel itself was clean, spacious, and quiet for an airport stay. It was good value for me while I waited for another traveler who was arriving the following day. The hotel is in Terminal Two at Haneda Airport in Tokyo. Even from another terminal, such as Terminal 3 international arrivals, it’s a short shuttle ride, then a walk up from the ground floor to the departure and ticketing level. I found the hotel without much trouble, and you can reach it without going through security.
