Haneda Homestay

The house connects easily to the rest of Tokyo, and getting there from Narita was straightforward. I took the Narita Express to Shinagawa, then spent about 10-15 minutes on a local train to Otorii station. The metro is a five-minute walk away, and Haneda airport is just two stops on the local line. The immediate area isn’t especially aimed at tourists, but I found a few good restaurants, enjoyed the nearby park, and got to see ordinary Japanese suburban life. Clint lives in one half of the house, while the other half is for Airbnb guests, with two rooms. I was the only guest, so I had a large upstairs bedroom and the whole downstairs to myself, including a big living room with a TV, kitchen, and bathroom. The place was spotless when I arrived, and it felt huge by Japan standards. There’s also a washing machine and cooking gear. Clint was very welcoming and happy to spend time sharing local tips. He speaks English and Japanese very well. He’d clearly thought about what travelers might need. The bed frame had built-in outlets, and I appreciated having a mirror in each bedroom. When I ran out of room to hang laundry in the bathroom, Clint brought in another drying rack and hung my clothes up while I was out. For all that, it was an amazing stay and a great bargain.
