The location was good and there was a small lounge area, but because of the reception staff I’ll never stay here again. I spend around 100 nights a year in hotels for work and have never been treated this way elsewhere. This was our sixth month-long trip to Japan, and our other stays had always been enjoyable. This hotel was the worst experience we’ve had. On arrival, the room smelled strongly of sweat, and the only fix offered was air freshener. There was hair all over the room, which clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The next morning we asked to change rooms. Staff said the hotel was full and even suggested cancelling our reservation. After we insisted for half an hour, they gave us another room, which made it seem they hadn’t been truthful about availability. That bathroom also had hair left by previous guests. The staff made every part of the room change unnecessarily difficult. When we went out to run an errand, they wouldn’t let us leave our luggage downstairs. At checkout, they refused to process it because some of us were outside with the key. We thought we’d left it in the room, but when staff went to check, they shouted at my wife and called her a liar. We had to argue for 20 minutes before they let us check out, and they charged us 1000 pesos for the keys. We weren’t refusing to pay, we just wanted to check out. The keys were brought back to the hotel 15 minutes later. They then refused to keep our luggage in the baggage area, even though they were storing bags for other guests. At the same time, we saw another polite family with children being treated just as badly. As we were leaving, staff offered to refund the key money, but we declined because we were about to miss our Uber. I added one photo showing body hair in the room. I didn’t take more because this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a review. I hope this helps other people who love Japan.
