I booked online for one night to explore this part of Tokyo, and the location was great. The place was clean, reasonably priced, and friendly. My L-shaped room beside the elevator was cozy and very quiet, just right for a good rest.

The neighborhood made this a really convenient place to stay. Chazawa-Dori had all kinds of grocery stores and food and drink options, and the winding residential streets nearby had parks and shrines. There's also a Familymart downstairs that's open 24 hours, which helped a lot with the kids when we got back late and needed food and drinks for the evening. We could walk to Sangenjaya Station in about five minutes for quick trips into downtown or central Tokyo. The hotel was clean, convenient, and had very nice, accommodating staff who tried to help however they could. They even spoke English, which made things smoother, though it didn't help my Japanese learning 😂. The rooms were small but great, and the lobby had free coffee 23rd and Portuguese tarts the night we arrived, though I'm not sure how often those are available. And of COURSE there was Ya O Ya No Family Restaurant! My youngest and I went there every morning before the rest of the team got up. The menu was simple and easy, the service quick, and the food good. This was the most central Sangenjaya hotel location we could find. We had everything we needed and more, with no negative comments about the stay at all. 🙌🏻🙏🏻

The lack of an elevator from street level to the check-in floor meant carrying our luggage up a flight of stairs. Once we were in, though, the hotel was modern and clean, and the rooms were compact. We booked two rooms side by side at the end of the hall for our family and were lucky to get a corner unit with two windows and endless, stunning views over Setagaya and the Tokyo skyline. The hotel is just steps from Sangenjaya Station in Setagaya, handy for exploring Tokyo's western neighborhoods and only a few stops from Shibuya. Its biggest advantage is the location, with busy streets full of restaurants, bars, and shops, plus a FamilyMart downstairs. The quirky Gorilla Building, a local landmark and fun photo spot, is a short walk away. Check-in was easy, and the front desk staff were very kind and helpful. They had city travel guides and surprised us with complimentary egg tarts one day. The water station in the lobby was a lifesaver in Tokyo's heat. Downstairs, there's a cozy restaurant with Western-style tables and some Japanese-style seating. We enjoyed the breakfast sets, and the lunch and dinner menus looked good for casual meals. Our stay at the b Sangenjaya was convenient, charming, and good value, a nice base for being close to things without spending too much. It's a smart pick if location, friendly service, and affordability matter to you. Be ready for tight rooms and hauling luggage, but once you're settled in, it's a great home base in Tokyo.

It was nice to take a long walk around the neighborhood one night and get a feel for the city. Carrot Tower was walkable, and we found a delicious, cute bakery nearby called Junibun. The bed was comfortable, and the room, though very small, had two big windows looking out over the city, with even a glimpse of Mt. Fuji. The bathroom was a little old, but clean. This was the last place we stayed on our Japan trip in November, and I enjoyed it. Hauling our luggage up the steep steps at the hotel entrance was a bit taxing. Thank you!

There are useful amenities to choose from at reception, and the hotel is right by Sangenjaya metro station. The B in sangenjaya is cozy, though it does feel a bit dated. The rooms show their age, but everything worked, including the shower and air conditioning. They explain ahead of time that daily service means fresh towels only, with a full clean every three days. There’s a steep staircase at the entrance, so it isn’t wheelchair friendly.
