The place smelled strongly of urine, and there was mould on the walls. Even at this price, I couldn't recommend staying here. The shared toilets and showers and lack of an elevator were bad enough, and the building looked like it should have been demolished in the 70s. There was no soap by the toilet sink, though the hallway sink had soap and a few paper towels. The outside doors locked with traditional keys, but from inside there was only a push button, which didn't feel secure. If we'd planned to stay longer than one night, we definitely would have booked another hotel at the last minute.

This place is a dump. The rooms were freezing in winter, and I don't know how they'd be in summer with the aircon, which didn't work at all. The rooms are tiny, with not a single wall hook, and the photos make the place look much better than it is. The only usable shower was close to disgusting, with mould and rotten wood; it's communal, and serves about 18 rooms. The second shower had no hot water. There was no security, so anyone could walk in off the street. They couldn't provide my wife an extra pillow even though she has a bad back. The hand basins had no hot water, only the shower, and the toilets smelled like dying rats. Check in is self service at any hour, with a loud automated digital voice that makes sleep difficult. Those are 10 reasons I call it a dump. Do I need to go on? Calling this a hotel doesn't fit; it feels more like a poorly run, low grade hostel for homeless people. Stay away. 28 Dec 2025

The bathroom was the last straw for me, though everything was already dirty. I've stayed in places without private bathrooms before and usually they're fine, but here there was just one shower for men and one for women. The laundry room wasn't separated from the showers, there was nowhere to hang clothes or towels, and no place for toiletries. You can buy wall hooks in Japan for 100 yen, which made it all the more infuriating that they hadn't bothered. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. A favela experience in Rio de Janeiro is more luxurious and cleaner. The building clearly wasn't meant to be a hotel, and would be better used for something else. Don't go there. Helping it go bankrupt would be a service to society.

I booked three nights, but my flight from Qatar was cancelled because of the conflict involving Iran and Israel-USA, so I couldn't travel. From day one I tried contacting the hotel for a refund by email, Agoda chat, and phone, but couldn't reach them. After three weeks, Agoda finally got through, and the hotel wouldn't offer even a partial refund or change the dates. I feel they didn't understand the ongoing war situation, while other hotels did. I can see why they get very bad reviews on Agoda and Google. The rooms and washrooms are dirty, like a prison, and the staff and managers were mean, unreachable, and unwilling to help. If you're looking for a hotel in Japan, avoid this one. They don't care about customers.

The price is reasonable, but people are clearly audible, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. It's a dorm style place with a shared bathroom and shower, while the room itself has a bed and lights. I was leaning toward 3.5 stars.
