The rooms are compact, but they work well if you’re out most of the day. There’s a TV, mini-fridge, small closet for jackets, and a decent-sized bed. The front desk also has most everyday items beyond the shampoo provided. It’s a stylish business hotel near Yotsuya Station, on a lively little street full of restaurants, bars, and cafes. A good fit for a short stay or business trip if you don’t need a spacious room or constant service.

The area is fairly quiet in the morning, then gets lively at night as locals meet up with friends and colleagues at the nearby Izakayas. There are plenty of eateries and convenience stores around, and atre1 is a small mall at the station. It’s a short walk from yotsuya station. In the evening the hotel offers snacks like oden, biscuits, and cup noodles, plus canned alcoholic drinks. There’s also a simple, no-frills breakfast in the morning. Good value for the money.

The highlight is the second-floor lounge, with complimentary wine, juice, biscuits, and even cup noodles in the evening, plus simple breakfast choices in the morning. The seafood restaurant on the first floor is excellent, and Shinmichidori has lots of friendly little pubs and restaurants. Staff were friendly without getting in the way. The hotel is right by Yotsuya station in central Tokyo. Rooms are small, business-hotel style, but have what you need for a good night's sleep. Stylish place and a good short-stay choice if convenience and price matter more than extra space.

I spent six days at the New Shohei Hotel in Tokyo. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room and toilet were clean and nice. It’s a good fit for one person. The location near a train station made getting around the city easy. I had a good stay.
