Hotel Petit Bali Higashishinjuku - Adults Only

I really liked the calm feel and music in the lobby. The free amenities were great, and the food was replenished when it was nearly gone. The room also had lots of complimentary items, including a toothbrush. The staff were friendly and helpful even though they didn’t speak English. As I was leaving at checkout, I nearly forgot a cable in the room, but a staff member handed it back to me just in time.

The bathroom had a heated toilet seat, which is standard in Japan, and a good choice of more than ten kinds of soap. That was about all I liked. I found the stay very disappointing and would have rather moved to another hotel. I can’t recommend this one. The room was extremely small, with barely enough space for one suitcase and definitely not two. It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke when I walked in. Smoking rooms shouldn’t still be offered, and the window only opened a tiny amount, so there was no proper ventilation. Cleanliness was mediocre, with visible limescale on the bathroom fixtures. Housekeeping was available only once and only on request. The air conditioner and other equipment seemed very old, like the hotel was stuck in the 1960s. Breakfast was disappointing too, mostly self-made rice balls and small packaged croissants.

We’ve stayed here twice now. The rooms are small but very clean, and there are lots of amenities. The staff are great, friendly, and really helpful. The common area has free drinks, alcohol, snacks, and more.

We tried reaching the hotel by phone, Instagram, and X, but nobody responded to our attempts to get in touch. Our guest had made an all-inclusive reservation, yet the hotel didn’t even provide a simple breakfast.
