Villa Fontaine Tokyo - Otemachi Hotel

The hotel is well placed for getting around. Kanda and Otemachi stations are an easy walk, and Tokyo station is also reachable on a relaxed stroll. We stayed in a twin room with a friend from 24 to 28 Nov 25. It was a tight space with little room to move, though that’s typical of Tokyo business hotels. The room was kept in good shape, with clean towels each day and basic cleaning every other day. Staff were warm and made check-in and checkout straightforward. There’s also an affordable laundromat in the hotel with self-service washers and dryers.

We stayed several nights, and the room cleaning seemed limited to the bare basics. At check-in we were asked whether we wanted the room cleaned or just fresh towels. Staff weren’t very helpful, and the whole place felt chaotic. There were boxes and packages piled behind reception, which looked untidy. Breakfast was a small offering by the entrance, with very little seating and not much food to pick from. There’s no coffee machine for guests, which was disappointing. Some rooms open directly outside, so on cold mornings you need to bundle up just to get to breakfast.

Getting around is easy, with Kanda and Otemachi stations both walkable. There’s a 7-Eleven and soba shop right next door, FamilyMart around the corner, plus a 24-hour Matsuya with a multilingual ordering kiosk and reasonable prices. We got Japanese breakfast for two there for nearly what the hotel charged for one person. The room was clean, the AC worked well, and having a charging cable provided was thoughtful. But there wasn’t room for two suitcases in our twin room, so we had to squeeze past each other or shift the luggage out of the way. The open corridor also leaves you exposed to the weather.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and breakfast was adequate, with scrambled eggs, sausages, curry rice, broccoli, cheese, bread and croissants, cereal, coffee, tea, and more. The service, rooms, and amenities were fine. Our only issue was seeing a few stains on the sheets on both beds. The room size was not bad, and it was nice to have carpeted floors, something even some four-star hotels don’t offer.
