You can pick up snacks or souvenirs at the shopping center by the station before heading back to your accommodation. The crossing light gives you just enough time to get across. If you want good photos, try very early in the morning or late at night, when the streets are quieter. Please don’t stop in the middle of the main shibuya crossing for pictures, though. It stays busy from the morning commute into the late evening.

We were there to catch the bus to Mount Fuji, and the wait was pleasant. The driver drove carefully and did a good job. When we got back from Mount Fuji, we even found halal food to buy near the Shibuya Station. Awesome.

The enclosed walkway gives you a free view down onto the crossing, with a slightly side-on angle that’s great for seeing the crowds start to cross. To find it, follow the signs inside Shibuya Station for Shibuya Mark City and head to the elevated skyway connecting the two. Look for the huge 'Myth of Tomorrow' mural, the windows nearby face the crossing. It’s easy to get to and open all the time.

It’s nice to have somewhere calmer to duck into after the busy streets outside. Shibuya Mark City feels roomier than other parts of Shibuya, so it’s good for slowing down a little. There are plenty of shops, cafés, and restaurants, whether you just need to run an errand or want to browse. Since it connects directly to Shibuya Station, it’s also easy to stop by while changing trains or getting away from the crowds. Even a walk through and a snack or drink is nice.

I came here every day for coffee and a pastry, and it ended up being my favourite store in Shibuya. There’s no shortage of choice: bakeries, groceries, alcohol, meat, seafood, sushi, sashimi, fruit, and veg. The variety is excellent!
