Kin Hotel

The neighborhood was a fun part of the stay. I enjoyed morning walks as the area woke up, with its small shrines and temples, and seeing Skytree from the street when I came back each evening. The hotel is between Asakusa and Ueno. Staff at the desk were pleasant, and check-in and checkout were easy. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the air con worked well, and the complimentary robes were nice. There was useful luggage storage space under the beds, given how little floor space there was. The rooftop onsen was delightful, though the men's and women's hours meant we only got to use it once. I wish the times alternated, since we were often out past 9 p.m. The rooms were incredibly small, even by Tokyo standards. We just accepted the Tetris-like shuffle we had to do, and knowing in advance might make it fine. The walk to the major stations was a bit painful on sore feet, though we knew about that too. Our room didn't have pajamas or a few other amenities I've had at hotels in this price range. The front desk couldn't really advise me on luggage forwarding, though they tried to offer solutions. I used the Family Mart down the street instead, and that went smoothly. They could suggest that option if they don't offer forwarding themselves. Would I stay again? Maybe. The good points outweigh some mild inconveniences. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the room, and thank you for your hospitality!

The rooms are on the small side, but the hotel is modern and very clean, with a spotless bathroom. The reception team and other staff were really nice, and the amenities were good for the price. Sensoji, Kappabashi, and the main Asakusa attractions are only a 5-10 minute walk away. A great-value stay.

Rooms 904, 804, and 704 have a view of Skytree. Mine was a nice little room with a safe and tiny fridge, and there's a spa too. I think it's especially good for women tourists. Quieter than apa hotels. Yes, very good 👍

Management was very good about letting me leave my luggage until quite late after checkout. The room was a bit small for two people, and the hotel is near a busy area. I'd recommend it, just keep the room size in mind.
