Meguro Midori Hotel

The best part is that you can use as many towels as you need for free. The showers and other facilities are downstairs in the basement, reached by stairs since there's no elevator. From Meguro station, it's about a three-minute walk. Midori lives up to its name, meaning green in Japanese, with greenery climbing across a beautiful wall on the outside. Inside, though, the cramped space takes the shine off that quickly. Check-in is self-service, and you get your codes after filling in the information ahead of arrival. Capsule beds fill almost every corner, and their sizes are all over the place. You might fit your backpack or luggage inside or underneath, if you're lucky, but there doesn't seem to be much thought behind the layout. Watch your step around the bags left scattered about.
