Tokyo Guesthouse HIVE

We stayed just one night and were pleasantly surprised by how much room there was to store our things. It was a good hostel stay overall. There’s no elevator, and the stairs are quite steep, so it may not suit someone with mobility issues.

The location and price were good, but the sleeping area felt too exposed, with very little privacy. The shower area was cramped and very small. The facilities didn’t meet my expectations.

There are steep stairs and no lift, but we could leave our larger luggage at the entrance, so it wasn’t an issue for us. The staff were friendly, the common areas were clean, and the location was fairly good even though it’s outside the centre. There are only two showers for women and two for men across the whole hostel, but we never had trouble finding one free. Good value given Tokyo prices. I recommend it.

The bed’s wood smelled good, the room air was comfortable to breathe and didn’t feel overly full of CO2 like in some other guesthouses. It was convenient that the washroom was on the same floor as the beds. Still, I wouldn’t recommend this hostel because there’s no elevator and the stairs are very steep. Taking heavy luggage up to your room could be dangerous.
