Sato san's Rest - Hostel

The common areas were pleasant, and the host seemed kind, but there wasn't a concrete solution to the issues. I checked out right after arriving without using the bed or any facilities, and was still charged the full price for two nights. The room felt far too cramped: nine beds were squeezed into a limited space, where I think eight would have been the most that made sense. The extra bed was placed at the end of the room, where I was meant to sleep, with almost no privacy and other guests' feet right by my head, or mine by theirs. The listing describes an eight-bed dorm, and the online photos show a more spacious layout with eight beds, unlike the actual room with the additional bed. The air conditioner blew warm air, and even after the host adjusted it, the room remained too hot. The smell from so many people packed into that confined space made it worse. I stayed at Sato San’s Rest on December 8, 2025. The host was polite at first, but the room was far from what I expected. I wouldn't recommend it if you need comfort, even a little personal space, or proper ventilation. Maybe it works for backpackers staying one night with very low expectations. There are clearly better places for the same price.

Nana-San and Yuta-San made this feel like home while I was here for three weeks. Their warm, welcoming place helped me meet so many wonderful people during my trip. I really recommend staying here and hope I can visit again someday. Arigato!!!!

The guest house is spotless and good value, and the neighborhood is quiet, with 7-elevens and a few restaurants nearby. It's around a 10-minute walk or less to the metro. Nana and Yuta, the lovely couple running the place, were incredibly kind and helpful. I had some personal difficulties during my stay, and they helped me a lot. The guest house itself is charming and immaculately clean. The location is a bit far out, and the dorm could feel cramped when full. I would have liked more locker space.

Nana and Yuta were so sweet and took great care of both the place and the guests. From what I saw, it was exceptionally clean and cleaned every day. The shared room was spacious, and the sleeping pods had room to sit up and stretch, which you don't often get in a hostel. It's peaceful, but getting somewhere busy is easy. There are plenty of shops, a convenience store around the corner, a laundromat, and little snack and clothing shops in the shopping passage. I liked seeing this quieter, homelier side of tokyo, with nice walks nearby, Sky Tree riverside within walking distance, and several great sento whatever the weather. Wish I could've stayed longer!
