The location is close to a bus or metro station, and the area is quiet. There’s free coffee, a personal fridge and a basic hygiene kit. The receptionist in the lobby was charming and very helpful. My room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. There was a lot of hair and some grime on the floor, possibly spilled food. The AC and exhaust fan were full of dust and need a deep clean. When I switched them on, dust came out, so I chose not to use them. They were noisy too. The shower and toilet are small, but that’s normal for a mid-level hotel in Japan. At around 9,000 yen a night in Shinjuku, having your own room, shower and toilet is hard to find. You get what you pay for, and as a cheap traveller I’d book again anyway. One of the receptionists was a bit rude, an older guy who didn’t smile or acknowledge you. Maybe he’s not happy with his work.
