Tokyo Tower View Guest House

The Wi-Fi got a little slow at night. Other than that, this is a good, cheap place with no frills. The bed had decent space and was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean, with bidet toilets, soap, shampoo, and a hairdryer supplied. Rowena-san and the Indian lady were all really kind and helpful. It's in a quiet neighborhood near Tokyo Tower, and I enjoyed walking around there.

The station is extremely close, which was handy with large suitcases. The facilities looked modern and were generally clean, though very cheap, with bathroom walls that seemed to be made of foam. Beds were comfortable and lockers were included. Sleeping was hard: it was very hot, the lights stayed on all night, the curtains didn't block them out, and I could hear every noise. The curtain itself was also loud and inconvenient. During quiet hours, 11pm-6am, guests were prompted to use the communal area, but the lounge and kitchen closed at 9pm, which was inconvenient. Staff helped with check-in, but we didn't feel entirely welcome. We also saw a few staff members have unnecessarily aggressive interactions with other guests over small issues. It's okay for a short stay if station access matters, but I wouldn't recommend it for a relaxing break, a social experience, or hospitable customer service.

For $19 a night, booked in advance, this was soooo good. I'm a big guy and the bed worked perfectly for me. I stayed eight days and got used to it. It was very quiet at night, and the showers were really good. The bathroom was cramped for me, haha. The place has lots of services, but they're all inside the office, so you have to see the workers. The Japanese owner/manager was very nice, though the Indian girl gave me attitude. There's a curry restaurant nearby that was the best in Japan!!!

The other guests were quiet, and the bed felt quite private. I'm 5'9" and it wasn't too short for me, so it was a nice place to sleep and I'd stay again. The subway is very close, as is a very famous restaurant. Book a reservation early if you want to eat there. Remember to order a towel ahead of time, especially if you're arriving on a Sunday, since office hours are limited.
