We spent nine nights there, and it worked out pretty well for us. It took about ten minutes on foot to reach JR Ikebukuro Station, though getting to the subway meant walking farther inside the station. The owner of Xiaoxin's Home is a very nice Taiwanese woman who welcomed us herself on check-in day and showed us around the facilities. Our room suited two adults and a child, with the basic amenities and a separate shower and toilet. There was a coin-operated washer on the first floor, and we could dry clothes on the balcony.

Getting in touch is easy, since the landlady has her Line details posted on Facebook. The guesthouse is around a five-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station. Our room had a TV and air conditioning, and the bathroom and toilet were separate. There’s also a coin laundry downstairs and a balcony for drying clothes. A really convenient place to stay.

Xiao Xin's mom was warm and helpful, happy to answer questions or share travel information. The guesthouse itself was clean and quiet, and entry by card made it feel fairly secure. It’s easy to find with Google Maps. Even though the lockdown has ended, you still need to bring your own personal hygiene items. Shampoo, shower gel, and a hair dryer are provided.
