Tokyu Stay Shimbashi (Ginza area)

The location was unbeatable. There are restaurants, 7-Elevens and FamilyMarts all around, and being close to Shimbashi Station made it really easy to get to Ginza, Asakusa, Shinjuku and elsewhere. There’s also a direct train to Narita Airport, while Tokyo Station is just 1-2 stops away, a great base for exploring the rest of Japan. We stayed 8 nights. The room was small but had enough room for two. Amenities were fantastic, from the self-service station, refillable water and coffee machine to the great hair dryer and in-room washer/dryer, which worked perfectly. The AC/heating was excellent too, and the staff gave fast, high-quality service. Highly recommend!

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, with excellent beds that let us sleep really well. The comfortable pyjamas and ReFa products in the bathroom were a nice extra. Service was a real highlight. The staff were always smiling and welcoming, and helped us send luggage. We also appreciated the complimentary lobby coffee. Shimbashi is a pleasant, convenient area, and the team were exceptionally kind throughout our stay.

The in-room washer/dryer was a complete game-changer for our longer trip. We could do laundry without leaving the room, pack lighter and come home with clean clothes. It sounds like a small thing, but on a long Japan trip it felt like a luxury. This was our second time choosing Tokyu Stay in Tokyo, after a wonderful stay at Tokyu Stay Aoyama. Shimbashi was just as good and confirmed why the chain is our go-to in the city. The station is a short walk away, with JR and metro lines giving easy access to Ginza, the Imperial Palace and pretty much anywhere else. Front desk staff were warm, professional and genuinely helpful with restaurant recommendations and luggage storage. Check-in and checkout were seamless. A clean, quiet, well-located hotel with amenities that punch above its weight. We loved Aoyama and Shimbashi and will book a Tokyu Stay again on our next Tokyo trip.

The location was great, and we had a good-sized room with nice amenities. The dryer ran at high heat and shrunk our clothes, and the instructions were a bit hard to understand. Still, it was a nice stay and I’d book again, but I wouldn’t use the washer/dryer.
