Urvest Hotel Kamata

Koji, the manager, was so kind and made the stay really pleasant. I was here with my boyfriend and two friends, and he greeted me whenever I came through the lobby. We ended up with more luggage than expected, so when we left he stored some for us so we could carry more. Very thoughtful of him. The hotel is a good price, and breakfast is included.

The receptionists were all really friendly, and although the entrance faces the Kamata station tracks, it wasn't noisy. The rooms are fairly large and cheerful for the price, with a TV, hairdryer, toiletries, air conditioning, air purifier, kettle, and more. You can also pick up extras at reception, like brushes, razors, robes, and green tea.

There's a train station right nearby with direct service to Tokyo main station, plus lots of restaurants around. It's also close to the airport, the staff are lovely, and breakfast is good. Would recommend!

At first, I worried I'd made the wrong choice because Urvest Hotel Kamata looked old. Then I saw how clean the room was, with crisp white linen that looked new and very good quality toiletries from shiseido. The staff were friendly and professional, and shopping, dining, and public transport are close by. I've stayed at 4-5 star hotels in Shinagawa and been disappointed by the service, smelly rooms, and old linen and toiletries. The lobby looked impressive, but the rest felt like 2-3 stars. I'd give Urvest hotel 4 stars, and I'd absolutely come back and recommend it. No regrets.
