We’re a family of four from Singapore, road-tripping across Japan, and used Hotel Route Inn as a stop before driving to Hakuba for skiing. Its location is superb, with a large Aeon and Muji mall just a stone’s throw away. The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable, and parking is free. On level 1 there’s a big laundry room with plenty of coin washers and dryers. Foreign travelers will also find a good-sized public onsen on the same level, with separate baths for women and men. It’s very clean and well kept. Breakfast is included, with a good spread. I’d highly recommend it for a family road trip.

The hotel is new, with rooms that are a good size even for two people. There’s an onsen, smoking rooms on different floors, and lots of parking. The staff are very friendly, and one of the ladies speaks English really well.

That bed is so hard, I’d rather sleep on the floor.

What stood out most was the restaurant staff at dinner. The place was really busy, but both the man and woman working there were polite, kind, and always smiling. The woman seemed to be a foreigner, yet her Japanese was excellent, and she communicated attentively. I’ve sometimes felt uneasy dealing with foreigners, but the meal was a really pleasant experience. Thanks so much. We were staying as a group, and the front desk staff were all pleasant and helpful too. We’d been looking forward to the large public bath after reading reviews. Since the hotel is new, it was clean and tidy. The water was light brown and a little viscous, and it left me sweating even after I got out. It really warmed me up.

The breakfast had a wide selection and tasted good. This morning they even served Himi udon as a local specialty. The dining area is large, so it can get busy, but people move through quickly. The spacious bath was lovely too. It’s a heated, circulated cold spring, and it warmed me up well. They don’t provide the lotion and oil samples some hotels have, but there was lotion, emulsion, and makeup remover in the bath area. The powerful hair dryer dried my hair quickly, and I appreciated the valuables lockers in the changing room. The new hotel is clean, spacious, and has separate hot springs for men and women. It’s also got the things I want in a room: lots of power outlets, a big luggage rack for suitcases, a portable LED light, a large mirror, a large-screen TV, and an air purifier. I’d gladly stay again if I’m in the area, and highly recommend it.
