Hitohada-no-yado Kawakin

I stayed in mid-May, and the food was as good as people say. The grilled sweetfish with salt was especially delicious. My room's bathroom and other facilities were dated, but everything was clean enough that it didn't bother me. I'd happily come back, even just to eat.

I had lunch at Ayu no Sho, across from Kawakin, and went with the Matsu course after taking a while to decide. Everything was delicious, especially the three charcoal-grilled sweetfish. They were so good I wanted to order more. I heard they cost about 400 yen each on July 21, 2025. I was full and stopped there, though honestly I could have eaten around 10 salt-grilled ones. Thanks to the man grilling them right in front of the hot charcoal, I got to enjoy them fresh and delicious.

It was a weekday, so I could take my time enjoying the indoor and outdoor baths. Both were pretty hot. The day-use visit cost 1100 yen, and I appreciated the drinking water they had ready for after the bath. The reception staff were also kind and helpful, which made the visit pleasant. 😁

The seasonal yellowtail kaiseki lunch was lovely to look at and really tasty, so I left very satisfied. I come to this restaurant every season, and it keeps going beyond what I expect. I want to return soon. I also had a soak in the hot springs before dinner, and the water felt wonderfully smooth.
