Dinner and breakfast were both a treat, with local ingredients and specialties, and every dinner dish was delicious. The salt-grilled nodoguro was the standout for me, its flavor was incredible. The staff were warm and wonderful, too. The onsen water is unusual and local to the region, with enough iron to turn everything orange. The room was enormous, probably the biggest ryokan room I've stayed in, and clean and tidy with all the amenities I needed. It had two toilets and two sinks, but no bathroom. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.

The food was great, nicely presented, and served in semi-private settings. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. The accommodation is well placed for day trips to nearby towns and cities. It's a lovely place by the riverbank, with stunning mountain views across the river. Highly recommended :)

The room, food, and onsen all made for an amazing stay. We tried other ryokan on our trip, including some in Kusatsu, but none could top this one. Highly recommend.

We had a delicious, beautifully presented dinner and breakfast, with Yebisu on the menu and a nice range of local nihonshu. The staff were very friendly, and the calm atmosphere stayed intact, with no children running around. The rooms have been beautifully remodeled, and the natural hot spring baths include a special iron and sodium bath rotemburo. We spent one night at Sanrakuen ryokan in Tonami. It's in a tranquil spot near the Shogawa river. The Shinkansen from Tokyo makes getting there very convenient, and I'd like to return someday.
