The building itself is quite old, but the service, views, open-air hot spring, and meals were all excellent. There’s also a welcome bar open 24 hours. It’s in a quiet spot on Shodoshima.

This was my second visit, and the views alone are worth coming back for. You can see them from the deck, outdoor hot spring, and breakfast area, just like in the pictures. That’s what brought me to Shodoshima again. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly, the staff are very helpful, and they keep the old facilities in good condition. Dinner was alright. The Japanese-style meal is served at the table, except during the summer buffet period from 14th July to the end of August. Breakfast is another good place to enjoy the view. We rented a car from the hotel for ¥6830 overnight, whereas other places only rent for 6 hours. The owner runs a happy hour with a singular drink from 3pm to 5pm, costing less than ¥1,000, as I remember. There’s pickup from the port from 3pm, and next-day shuttle service at 8:20 AM, 9:30 and 9:50 AM.

The view is good, and there’s a free shuttle bus for guests. It’s a little far from the pier, though. Not bad!
