The pillow provided was extremely thin, but we were refused an extra one. You’d think that wouldn’t be too much to ask.

The staff were rude, and there wasn’t enough bedding for the number of people.

The good thing is the location: Angel Road is close by, and there are restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, and a Hello Cycling port within walking distance. The price was cheap, but I still felt it was expensive for what I got. I checked myself in on the tablet by the entrance and found my assigned room, which had a code-entry automatic lock. The refrigerator was very cold. The futons were stacked up, so I had to lay them out and put the sheets on myself. No yukata or pajamas were provided, and the only amenity was a toothbrush. The shared bath had completely cold water and couldn’t be used, so I just took a shower.

The location is excellent, so I would recommend the inn, but don’t expect exceptional hospitality. It seems the reviews have fallen since the ownership changed, and everything here was self-service. Check-in is done on a tablet at the entrance. After that, I went upstairs to look for my room, but couldn’t find it and ended up wandering around. The only map was posted at the entrance, and it was difficult to understand. I gave up and went outside, then spotted the annex and realized that had to be it. A note in the email or on the map saying the room was in the annex would have saved me from getting lost. The hallway in the main building creaked under normal footsteps, which I imagined would be quite noticeable at night. The walls in the annex room were thin too, but the TV made it less bothersome. The walls were old, though the new toilet and air conditioner were reassuring. The keypad room key also made me feel secure, even though the annex looked like a prefabricated hut. The room had just the basics: face towels, bath towels, a toothbrush, cup, tissues, and TV. There was Wi-Fi, but no loungewear, so bring your own pajamas. There’s no hot water kettle in the room. You have to use the water dispenser in the main building, which was too inconvenient to bother with: go in through the check-in entrance, up to the second floor, across the corridor, then back down again. I had a question during my stay and sent a text message. The issue was resolved right afterward, so I sent another message to say it was taken care of, but got no reply. Surely they could at least have said to contact them again if I had more questions.
