Sun Hotel Tosu Saga

Breakfast starts at 6:30, and even though I was checking out without having any, the front desk put together bananas, vegans, and scones for me. I stayed here the night before the Saga Cherry Blossom Marathon. Hotels around Saga Station and Tosu Station were mostly 20,000 to 30,000 yen, so this was reasonably priced, though I got a smoking room. I’ve never smoked, and the smell bothered me at first, but I got used to it within an hour. I’d recommend staying here.

I was really touched by the warm welcome when I arrived somewhere new. The female receptionist even drove over to the coin parking lot in the cold at night to see if there were spaces. It was my first stay here, and the hotel lot was full when I arrived late, so I was sent to nearby coin parking. You pay there first and get reimbursed later. Parking was free despite the great location, and I’m grateful for her kind, courteous service.

What upset me was being told so casually that nobody could park there that day, even though there were several open spaces. I had to use a lot farther away. A few hours later, I saw a regular car parked in the hotel lot. I wouldn’t have minded the distant parking by itself, but being given what seemed like a lie was shocking, especially since the lot was advertised as first come, first served.

Stayed in May 2025. The inside was clean and comfortable, and the location works really well for away supporters, right by the stadium and close to the station. It isn’t new, but it’s inexpensive. The front desk staff wants to be the Straw Millionaire, so please exchange something for them.
