I was lucky to get one of the bigger rooms, and it was splendid. The area is quiet but still easy to get around, and the price feels worthwhile. Breakfast is free, mostly rice balls, and really good.

This felt like a very bad place for foreigners. Nobody seemed to like strangers, whether employees or customers. They were polite on the surface, but it was hard not to sense their disdain toward us. For a place whose motto is “to feel like home,” that’s a shame.

Toyoko Inn is about a two-minute walk from the south exit. That side is much quieter and more secluded than the north exit, where the shopping street is. There are few streetlights along the way.

The room was clean and nicely decorated, and the location is so good. I could see the metro station from my room. It’s right opposite Tottori metro station, about a two-minute walk away.

The rooms were nice and the staff very friendly. It’s a great hotel, right by the station and bus stops, about a five-minute walk away.
