Towadakosansou

We spent four nights here to explore the Oirase Gorge properly. It's conveniently located near Lake Towada and the Gorge, and a reasonably short drive from places like the Hakkoda ropeway. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious and generous, and the service was friendly and attentive. It's a minshuku, a Japanese-style bed and breakfast, so you make your own futon and ideally bring your own toiletries. For that kind of place, I thought it was good value.

I got to meet the family who runs this lovely place, and had a great time, including a nice evening chatting with the kids. It's a really nice hotel, and I'd love to come back. I still have the lovely watch as a souvenir. Thank you!

We were put in another building. It was old, smelled bad, dusty, and had no Wi-Fi. If you have allergies, don't go there. I don't know whether the building shown on the website has better rooms.
