For what you pay, the cleanliness and service are five-star, and Hayahoshi Station is about a 5-minute walk away. The bed and desk are private, while the toilet, shower room, microwave, and other amenities are shared, but everything was clean and comfortable to use. The shower pressure was incredible. Drinking water comes from a dispenser, which is a little slow, but that's to be expected, and it has hot water too. Slippers are provided so you don't mix yours up with other people's. There are two bicycles you can use for free, handy for riding to the supermarket or shopping mall. I didn't visit the public bath, though it seemed like an option.

The room was plain but comfortable, and I had a good three days here during the Owara festival. The inn has been passed down from the previous owner and is now run by the husband and his grandmother. They remembered my name and were happy to chat. Thanks for looking after me, and please give Grandma my regards. I hope to return next year and after that. Hayaboshi Station is a few minutes away on foot, and the trip to Etchu-Yao Station, where the Owara festival takes place, is about 10 minutes. Trains back are still infrequent except for those going directly to Toyama Station, and the last services stopping at Hayaboshi end early. The inn lent us bicycles. Riding to Yaomachi takes about an hour, and the road back at night is dark and has no streetlights, though it makes for good aerobic exercise. There are several restaurants within walking distance. We had breakfast at a nearby waffle specialty shop, but it was closed for dinner, so I can't comment on that meal. Two things I'd improve: being able to choose a pillow at reception, since the one provided didn't suit me and made it hard to sleep, and adding a fan to the shower room changing area. It's hot and stuffy there, and I was drenched in sweat after showering.

There's a parking lot and a small garage, though the garage only fits a limited number of bicycles and motorcycles, which gives some peace of mind. The rooms have privacy, and while toilets, sinks, and showers are shared, they've all been renovated and kept clean. The price is like a guesthouse, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. It's also convenient for sightseeing in Noto, with good transport access. The grandmother who runs it has a slightly Ghibli-like feel, which is a nice touch. For motorcyclists and travelers, this seems close to an ideal place to stay. It combines the best parts of a rider house, guesthouse, inn, and ryokan. Compared with the guesthouses in the Toho Inn guidebook, it was cleaner, nicer, and cheaper, and the location works well for transport and restaurants while still giving you privacy.

Very clean and nice, and the owner was so friendly and kind. I'd like to stay again if I'm in the area.

I've stayed here around three times for work, and it's spotless everywhere since the recent renovation. The place is always well maintained, and the rooms, shower rooms, toilets, and other water facilities are all clean and convenient. The older woman at reception is always kind. I met the owner this time too, and he was very friendly and lovely. I come to Toyama for work often, so I'll stay here again. I don't want too many people finding out, since that could make reservations harder, but I really recommend it! lol. Next time I'll try the nearby hormone restaurant you recommended. There are quite a few good izakayas around as well.
