We had a room with a private onsen, and it was very good. Dinner and breakfast were good too. The hotel is close to Tateyama station and the start of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route.

The location was quiet and nice, and the onsen was very good. The hotel isn't within walking distance of the station, but when I called from the cable car before heading down, staff kindly came to pick us up. They also shuttled us back to the train station the next morning. Dinner was a buffet with lots of choices, though most weren't premium dishes. It was convenient, but not as good as the dinner we had at Kurobe View on the other side of the alpen route. Breakfast was buffet style too, decent enough but not fantastic.

It's a big hotel for its location. The onsen was great, with several pools, including ultrasonic, jacuzzi, and open-air baths. Dinner was a mix of Japanese and European food, and breakfast was simple but acceptable.

The food quality and service were a pleasant surprise, and I still gave four stars for the food, room, and surroundings. But I chose this hotel after seeing pictures of Japanese food online, so getting Italian dinner instead upset me. I wasn't saying it was bad, just not what I expected. My father hates cheese, and the portions were definitely too large and very cheesy. Cheese lovers might be happy, but he grew more disappointed and left the table halfway through with an unhappy look. It made the atmosphere awkward, as if I hadn't been considerate and was wasting food. I later checked other comments and saw that some people staying several nights had different dinner styles. If you're expecting Japanese dinner, I'd call ahead to check what they'll serve.
