Toyohashi Business Hotel

The room had an air purifier and individually controlled air conditioning, so we could get on with a normal stay. Like the major chains, they also gave us one free drink each night and breakfast, which was a delicious pork miso soup. The service was generally good, and parts of the Showa-era building have been renovated. The TV didn’t get BS, and the bathtub was such a struggle to use. It seemed sized about right for an elementary school student. All the staff were elderly. I hope they keep doing their best.

Breakfast lets you pick Japanese food, rice with pork miso soup, or Western food, toast. You can ask for a refill and have both, too, so it suits anyone who wants a big breakfast. It’s a business hotel I’d recommend for that. I stayed during year-end party season, and people making noise outside a nearby bar were a bit loud. Apart from that, nothing else bothered me.

The building is old, though the rooms have been renovated and are clean. Twin rooms have their own bathrooms, while single rooms seem to share one. The free breakfast has both Japanese and Western options. For two people, it was only 7,800 yen cheaper! It’s a little way from the station, but the price is reasonable. It was raining, so I came before check-in to leave my luggage. They’d already cleaned the room and let me in, which was very kind and much appreciated.

My compact single room had a bed, TV, air conditioning, and fridge, and I stayed one night. The bathroom and shower were on the third floor and were clean. At check-in, I could choose a welcome drink, with water, beer, and cola among the options. Breakfast offered Japanese or Western food. The hotel is near Toyohashi Station with plenty of restaurants close by. I had a great stay!
