Toyoko Inn Tsushima Hitakatsu

The hotel lost power during the night, and there were no fire alarms, emergency lights, or response measures. It felt completely unsafe. A terrible experience.

We had a comfortable room and good food, and the sea view made it lovely to watch the sunrise by the window. The port isn’t far away either, and our taxi fare was only 1,100 yen. I’d recommend it as the best hotel in the area.

The seaside setting is nice and the place was clean, but the staff were terrible, and I honestly don’t want to return because of them. The shuttle service was especially bad. Don’t expect an actual bus, it’s a taxi. We reserved one for 21:00 and waited with other guests, but after 30 minutes it still hadn’t arrived, so we called the hotel. They didn’t apologize and didn’t even know it was delayed. The next day, we tried booking again. They seemed to have only two taxis, with room for about eight people. There were seven people booked for 9:45 and five for 10:15. We asked for 10:15 since only five people were listed, but they refused without giving a reason or a convincing explanation. For the same price, I’d go somewhere with nicer, kinder staff.

Room 3.0, location 1.5, parking 4.0, cleanliness 3.0, service 3.0, amenities 2.5, mattress 3.0. It’s very isolated, with no public transport. Without a rental car, plan ahead for rides and pickup.
