Okura Tokyo Bay Hotel

The pictures don’t show how dated this place is. The furniture, bathroom, and carpet all look straight out of the 90s, and they’re still using paper keycards. It’s listed as a 4.5-star hotel, but even a Best Western is probably more updated. There was a smell in the room that made me think it may once have been a smoking room, or that there could be mold. The wallpaper was peeling, so mold seems more likely to me. The bed is hard as a rock, and I’m not looking forward to sleeping on it. This hotel is on an island, in the sense that it’s a 30-40 minute taxi ride to anywhere unless you plan to spend every day at Disney. There’s a poor attempt at a 7/11 drug store and two “restaurants” on site, while the nearest 7/11 is a 35-minute walk each way. If you’re spending all your time at Disney, this might be great. Otherwise, choose somewhere else. It’s not worth 150 a night.

There was lots of room for our luggage and space left over. The room had two single beds joined together, though they were harder than I’m used to. The bathroom was spacious and had both a bath and a shower. A great place to stay.

I walked three minutes to Bayside Station, then took the Disney Resort Line to the parks for 300 yen each trip. It was close and easy to get around. Service was amazing, and even the least expensive room was very nice, quiet, and had good bedding, a bidet, and a nice bathroom. I bought the breakfast buffet the day before at a discount. It was okay for 3,500 yen and a good start to the day. An excellent choice for comfort and value if you’re visiting Tokyo Disney Resort.

Everything was organized, neat, and clean, and the location was excellent, close to both Disneyland and DisneySea. The staff were kind, professional, and very helpful, always doing what they could to make the stay comfortable and calm. I didn’t run into any problems, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay near Disney. Thanks again to the staff. As a Muslim, I prefer halal food, but it wasn’t available at the hotel restaurants or convenience store. I hope they can improve that, since it would make the stay truly superb.
